About the Role
This is a pivotal role for a technically driven D365 Business Central Developer ready to take ownership of a full-scale ERP rollout across APAC.
You will lead all technical development, customization, and integration work for the deployment of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central — starting with an Australian manufacturing entity migrating from SYSPRO. Beyond the immediate project, you will play a foundational role in establishing an in-house BC Center of Excellence (CoE), reducing vendor dependency and building scalable, maintainable ERP solutions aligned with the group's long-term strategy.
This is a hands-on role with high visibility, cross-regional exposure, and a clear mandate: deliver a mission-critical ERP transformation that will set the standard for the entire APAC region.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Technical Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on BC/NAV development using AL; proficiency with VS Code, Git, and Azure DevOps; solid understanding of the BC data model across Finance, SCM, and Manufacturing modules
Integration Skills: Hands-on experience with APIs, OData, and REST integrations; strong SQL skills; familiarity with Power Platform integration
ERP Background: Experience in ERP migration or implementation projects; exposure to legacy systems such as SYSPRO, SAP B1, or NAV is a strong advantage
Soft Skills: Analytical and detail-oriented with excellent communication skills across multicultural teams; proactive self-starter with the ability to deliver under tight deadlines
Certifications (Preferred): Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Developer Associate (MB-820 or MB-800); Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)
Responsibilities
◉ System Development & Customization
- Design, develop, and deploy AL extensions, codeunits, pages, reports, and queries
- Customize standard BC objects following best practices for upgrade-safe development
- Implement approval workflows, document management, and automation using Power Automate
- Develop new report layouts (RDLC / Word) and dashboards integrated with Power BI
◉ Environment & Release Management
- Configure and maintain DEV / TEST / PROD environments using Azure DevOps
- Build CI/CD pipelines, manage source control (Git), and oversee release deployment
- Coordinate environment refreshes, patches, and version upgrades with Global IT
◉ Data Migration & Integration
- Lead migration from SYSPRO to D365 BC — including extraction, transformation, validation, and import of master data
- Develop reusable import templates for customers, vendors, items, BOM, GL, and opening balances
- Create and manage integrations with third-party systems including warehouse, CRM, and banking platforms
- Implement secure API connections and data-synchronization routines
◉ Support & Continuous Improvement
- Provide post-go-live technical support and bug-fixing during hypercare period
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot production issues
- Participate in code reviews and maintain full technical documentation for the CoE knowledge base
- Identify improvement opportunities and recommend technical enhancements
◉ Collaboration & Training
- Partner with Functional Consultants to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Work with finance and supply-chain stakeholders to test and validate new features
- Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge across the APAC team
